What's included as standard for Express installation?
Around 9 in 10 of our installations are "standard", without attracting additional costs.
- Up to 15 metres cabling from incoming power supply into your home to your charger - for the vast majority of homes this is more than enough. The charger will be mounted on to a wall.
- The cable will be installed in either existing building voids or clipped directly to the wall, taking the shortest route defined by the electrician, passing through one wall.
- We install the CT clamp that accompanies the Cord charger. This allows the charger to function correctly with other electrical devices in the home.
- We register your Cord device so it works with your app.
- Electrical testing and certification.
What may attract an additional cost:
- Gas / water bonding rectification / upgrade. This is the most common additional expense, and is an important measure to ensure your charger is installed safely and meets safety and legal requirements. Unfortunately, under regulation we are unable to install a charger without this being in place and to current standards.
- Installation of a surge protection device (SPD). These are used to protect the charging unit and vehicle against any damage that could be caused by electrical power surges such as lightening strike.
- Additional cabling over 15m - for the vast majority of homes this is more than enough, however please note cable route meterage includes distances up and down walls (where required), and not just the straight distance between the electrical supply and EV charger.
- Non-wall mounting (i.e. post).
- We can complete groundworks (i.e. digging a trench), but these will require a bespoke quotation.
If you think you may need a more complex installation, please feel free to get in touch with us so we can offer advice
If any of these additional costs apply, we'll be in touch to explain before booking your installation.

What can slow things down?
Whilst around 9 in 10 of our installations are standard, the most common things that can slow down an express installation are: -
- Non-standard installations. If you require additional cabling or have a complex install run this can slow down installation.
- If your supply is "looped" we will need permission from your DNO (distribution network operator) before we can proceed with the installation.
Don't worry - we're here to help. If any of these situations apply to you, our team will be in touch to explain and talk through your options.
