Cord Plus 5m: the programmable portable granny charger
The Cord Plus is the granny charger for people who like control. Its LCD screen lets you delay the start of charging to catch cheaper overnight rates, set a charging target in kWh, and choose your charging current at 6A, 8A or 10A. Five metres suits a socket close to where you park.
Underneath, it's a 2.3kW portable EV charger with the full Cord safety set: a 10A cap in line with UK electrical regulations for continuous use, over-voltage, under-voltage and over-temperature protection, and IP65 water resistance. The 3-pin plug fits any standard UK socket and the Type 2 fits every EV and plug-in hybrid, with a carry bag included and a 3 year warranty.
Both are 2.3kW 10A portable granny chargers with the same safety protection, Type 2 connector and carry bag. The Cord Plus adds an LCD screen with programmable charging.
1 year warranty
Cord Lite
The essentials, done properly. Plug the 3-pin into any UK socket, the Type 2 into your car, and charge. No installation, no setup.
3 year warranty
Cord Plus
Adds an LCD screen with programmable charging: delay the start for cheaper overnight rates, set a target in kWh, and choose your charging current (6A, 8A or 10A).
Not sure which length? 5m suits a socket close to where you park. 10m reaches from a garage or hallway socket across the drive. 15m covers parking well away from the socket. Measure from the socket to your car's charging port, and allow for whether you reverse in or park nose-first.The Cord team

Safety first, by design
A granny charger lives on a domestic socket, so we build in the protection that cheap portable chargers skip.
Capped at 10A, deliberately
In line with UK electrical regulations for safe, continuous charging from a domestic socket.
Over and under-voltage protection
Monitors the supply and cuts charging if the voltage is unsafe.
Over-temperature protection
Temperature sensors in both the charger and the 3-pin plug watch for heat build-up and stop charging before it becomes a problem.
IP65 water resistant
Sealed against rain and dust, with IK10 impact protection.
−25°C to +45°C
Charges outdoors in UK weather, all year round.
Warranty as standard
1 year on Cord Lite, 3 years on Cord Plus, with UK-based support.
Why buy a Cord portable charger?
A portable charger plugs into a domestic socket every day, so build quality is a safety matter, not a luxury. Here's how Cord compares to a typical budget granny charger.
