Benefits of a long type 2 EV cable
Longer EV cables such as 15m, 20m, 30m have several benefits that can save you time and money:
Ideal for households with longer driveways.
If you've got two cars, especially two EVs, a longer cable can avoid the necessity to move cars to facilitate EV charging.
A longer cable combined with an untethered (socketed) EV charger could avoid expensive groundworks.
Which cable do I need for my EV or Hybrid?
Home charging - 7kW "single phase"
If you're charging at home only, we recommend a 7kW "single phase" cable. This is because the vast majority of EV home chargers are 7kW, and home electrics are usually "single phase".
Workplace charging - 22kW "three phase"
For workplace charging we recommend a 22kW / "three phase" cable. This is because most workplaces can charge your car faster. Don't worry - these cables still work at home, they'll just charge at a lower speed.
Consider coiled cables for convenience
Our coiled cables are ideal for charging at both homes and workplaces. They don't rest on the ground so are cleaner and easier to store, especially in rain or during the winter. These are available in both 7kW and 22kW versions.
